Created by HOANH — an independent artist where jazz breathes in every note of his singing and flows through every story he tells, The Flow in Jazz is a long-term project that blends music, education, and culture, aiming to open new perspectives on jazz and spark deeper connections between artists, audiences, and every slice of life.

After two successful events in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Hoanh and Saigon Swing Cats, a community of swing dance lovers in HCMC, now bring the project into a new chapter with The Flow in Jazz EP.2: Harlem After Dark, a special cultural event that relives the atmosphere of Harlem in the late 1920s, when jazz was alive in every home, every street, and every all-night party.

Inspired by the concept of the rent party — community gatherings organized by African Americans to raise rent money — The Flow in Jazz EP.2 invites the audience into a multidimensional cultural space: stride piano rhythms, the pulse of swing, the energy of Lindy Hop, and stories of pride, creativity, and freedom during the Harlem Renaissance.

Here, jazz is more than music — it is a way of life. Free, bold, and full of sharing and resilience. Hoanh and Saigon Swing Cats hope to bring you a cultural event where music becomes the spark to relive Harlem’s soulful nights together. What you will experience:

Enjoy live band swinging all night long and special performances

Learn the basics of swing in a beginner-friendly dance class and be part of the Harlem-themed social dance

Discover the cultural stories of the Harlem era

Enjoy drinks and snacks to keep you energized

Join our lucky draw for a chance to win exciting prizes

Meet a community of music, dance, and culture lovers like you

The Flow in Jazz EP.2 is an expansion into a cultural and social experience, where art meets life, and the audience becomes part of the community itself.

From the humble silkworm cocoon, the Silk Road once stretched between East and West — becoming one of humanity’s greatest arteries of trade and culture. Yet it was never merely a single route, but a vast web of civilizations, woven across lands and seas far apart.

Within the exhibition “Seas of Silk”, artist Quang deLam invites viewers to journey through that ancient network anew — through the language of visual art, where silk threads transform into forms, colors, and traces of movement and encounter. Here, history does not remain confined to the pages of books; it breathes, alive, in rhythm with the people of today.

Do those threads linking East and West still exist in our time?

And what do they mean — to Vietnam, and to the artist himself?

Quang deLam has set the path. Step in — and begin your own journey of discovery.

Adapted from the psychological crime novel Le Coeur Enchainé (The Shackled Heart) by French writer Catherine Arley, Giờ của Quỷ is a play centered on the mysterious death of a young woman connected to the family of a renowned painter.
The Archive Body is complemented by a collaboration with Reading Room, transforming the mezzanine into a temporary reading space that functions as an active archive. A selection of Reading Room's art book collection is displayed alongside Galerie Quynh's exhibition monographs and publications. The space presents monographs by Vietnamese artists represented by Galerie Quynh alongside international art publications, creating an interactive environment where visitors can explore research materials and methods that connect to the exhibited works.

As one of the few public resources of its kind in Vietnam, Reading Room makes books—especially those from independent publishers—more accessible to the local Saigon creative community. Archives naturally grow through addition and dialogue. By contributing Galerie Quynh's art monographs to Reading Room's evolving collection, we are contextualizing Vietnamese contemporary art within a global framework and adding to an international archive body.

On October 12, come to KHU 13 and witness our artists express their unique identities, blending light, sound, and emotion through the LED SCREEN Automatically system to create an atmosphere of pure artistic elevation. More than just a night of “partying,” 13 Extension: Bắc Trung Nam is an evening of art — dedicated to those who love music and the spirit of Vietnam.

What do we imagine when we think of an archive? Typically, a library or repository — a collection of interconnected parts that form a greater whole, like a human body. But what about the individual elements that constitute this body? Archives may appear as complete entities, yet they emerge from countless singular components: fragments, traces, and records that accumulate over time, and are ever-changing and expanding.

The Archive Body brings together artists who engage with archive-making through direct, hands-on practices. It explores a different approach to archival work, one that emphasizes physical labor: gathering, sorting, imprinting, and layering. These artists create the individual components that form larger archival bodies — transforming found materials and generating new records through physical encounters with the world. They source forgotten footage, make rubbings from street surfaces, collect ephemeral objects, document fleeting moments.

This exhibition is complemented by a collaboration with Reading Room, transforming the mezzanine into a temporary reading space that functions as an active archive.

Artists: Hoàng Dương Cầm, Nguyễn Huy An, Trọng Gia Nguyễn, The Propeller Group, Vy Trịnh, Trúc-Anh, Liên Trương in collaboration with Hồng-Ân Trương, Võ Trân Châu.

Annam Gallery is honored to present A “Second” Gaze, an exhibition gathering the young women artists of Vietnam: Lâm Tú Trân, Lê Mai, Một Quả Tắc, and Yến Nguyễn. Here, they come together in dialogue—about how women see, how they feel, and how they fashion the world around them. The exhibition is conceived as a philosophical–aesthetic experiment, where artists and their works summon the viewer into a contemplative journey on subject and object, and on the female gaze itself.

The title A “Second” Gaze takes its inspiration from the phenomenon of the female gaze and from Simone de Beauvoir’s book The Second Sex. In 1975, theorist Laura Mulvey observed that culture and mass media—especially the classical cinema of Hollywood—were constructed upon the male gaze and its scopophilia, reducing women to a mere value of “to-be-looked-at-ness.” Out of this critique emerged the notion of the female gaze, pointing toward the existence of a vision from “the other side”: a “second” gaze.

With the desire to illuminate female subjectivity, the exhibition and its participating artists show that women can construct their gaze out of their own experiences and identities. A “Second” Gaze does not seek to define “the feminine” as a fixed essence. Rather, it creates a space of dialogue, where aesthetics and philosophy intertwine, and femininity itself appears as an open possibility—diverse, shifting, and unceasingly in motion.

The artists, coming from different regions of Vietnam, pursue diverse styles and schools of thought, carrying with them distinct cultural inheritances. From this plurality arises a multidimensional conversation about the female gaze within a global context. Each work is thus not only an individual creation but also a voyage—bearing the trace of journeys, origins, and movements. Their presence enriches and expands the fabric of what we may call a Vietnamese female gaze today.

Discover Saigon Unseen, an invitation to look closer and to discover hidden corners, quiet alleys, and fleeting encounters that reveal the soul of the city.

Saigon is a city of constant chaos, of endless movement, but if you slow down, another world appears beneath the noise and rush. Around the corner of a hẻm or inside an ageless building where times feels suspended, a fleeting gesture, a hat hanging in shadow, a sudden reflection in a rain puddle, stories unfold quietly - moments that most people pass by without noticing.

Through my lens, I search for what often goes unnoticed - the poetry of the ordinary, the rhythm of daily life, the unseen face of the place I now call home.

***

I'm Adrien, born in France but residing in Vietnam since 2014, following my passion for travel and embracing diverse cultures in my new home, the vibrant Ho Chi Minh City. It was within this bustling metropolis that I have developed a lifelong relationship with photography.

I see photography as a bridge, allowing me to forge meaningful connections with local people and gain a profound understanding of their traditions & culture.

I love capturing the everyday stories of this incredible city and sharing that passion through photography tours & workshops. Join me and discover the soul of Saigon through your own lens!

“Not Brook but Ocean should be his name”.
- Ludwig Van Beethoven
("Bach" is the German word for "brook")

When the genius Ludwig van Beethoven uttered these words about Johann Sebastian Bach, he offered more than mere praise for a great composer. It was a profound insight into the soul of a musical legacy as vast as the ocean itself: deep, surging, holding innumerable treasures, and serving as the very fountainhead from which the river of Western classical music flows.

For over three centuries, that ocean has never ceased its powerful tides. The golden melodies of the Baroque era, immortalized by Bach's hand, have become timeless. Each performance reveals new layers of meaning, new shimmering facets of beauty previously unseen. The concert, "The Music of Johann Sebastian Bach," is a grand voyage back to this magnificent origin, allowing us to immerse ourselves in his most exquisite chamber masterpieces.

This voyage will guide the soul through the elegant and familiar realms of the Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B minor, BWV 1067. It will then venture into the captivating and dramatic dialogues of his concertos: the Concerto for Keyboard and Strings, BWV 1052 AR and the Concerto for Violin, Oboe, and Strings, BWV 1060 AR, before coming to anchor at the shores of the sublime Concerto for 2 Violins in D minor, BWV 1043 - a pinnacle that every distinguished artist aspires to conquer.

We cordially invite you to join us, to listen, to feel, and to commune with the "soul of the Baroque." This concert is co-organized by Saigon Classical, Joy Foundation, the Vietnam Connection Music Festival (VNCMF), and the Saigon Chamber Music Society, with the support of MORICO as part of the A Master Series Concert project. The event also proudly marks the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Connection Music Festival.

The performance features celebrated artists: Chuong Vu (violin), Meritorious Artist Tang Thanh Nam (violin), Le Minh Hien (violin), Nguyen Linh Xuan (violin); Pham Vu Thien Bao (viola), Doan Trong Ho Nguyen (viola), Meritorious Artist Nguyen Tan Anh (cello), Nguyen Son Vu (contrabass), and Nguyen Thuy Yen (harpsichord).
