Though they’re becoming increasingly rare on Vietnam’s roads, Honda Chalys remain a favorite for local mechanics who out their own spin on the diminutive motorbikes.
Sure, you’ll still see an old lady putting around on an original model with the white and green color scheme, but it’s becoming more common to see updated, modded versions of the bike. Some upgrades focus on bumping up the engine from 50cc to 100cc, replacing the exhaust and brake systems and adding off-road tires.
Though they don’t get as much love as other classic bikes like Vespas and Honda 67s, the Chaly has proven its lasting value in adaptability.
