From the organizer: Join us at The Old Compass Cafe for a night of world music with Guihangtar.
Traditional Asian idioms weave with Western styles, exploring the technical and expressive dimensions of the guitar, enhanced with percussion instruments from various parts of the world.
Guihangtar is an international duo featuring guitarist Le-Tuyen Nguyen (Teaching Fellow, Australian National University School of Music) and percussionist Salil Sachdev (Professor of Music, Music Department Bridgewater State University, USA).
Guihangtar performs original compositions and arrangements largely inspired by, but not limited to, nature and traditional music. The essence of the duo is such that it is an evolving musical dialogue not bound by any specific cultural confines. Guihangtar has performed in the USA, Australia and Vietnam.
