You Can Now Pump Your Own Gas at 11 Filling Stations in Saigon

The service underwent a 15-day pilot period before being officially rolled out.

Starting from January 15, both bike drivers and car owners can now fill their own gas and pay for it through payment machines at 11 Petrolimex gas stations across the city, Tuoi Tre reports. Petrolimex's machine currently accepts ATM cards and Flexicard, which include debit and prepaid cards issued by Petrolimex.

During the early period of implementation, station attendants are available nearby to assist customers in operating the pumps and using the payment machine. It's unclear whether these stations have completely switched to self-service or traditional methods are still offered alongside self-service booths.

District 2, 11, 5, 4, Tan Binh, Binh Thanh, Go Vap, Phu Nhuan and Tan Phu each has one self-service station while District 1 has two.

Petrolimex said it would expand this model to more locations as well as making more payment methods available such as Visa, Mastercards, QR codes, and mobile wallets.
