HCMC to Launch Open-Top Sightseeing Bus Service for Tourists

From January 15, these buses will start operating in Districts 1 and 3.

According to the Department of Transport, each bus will have 63 seats with an open top for sightseeing. Named Hop On-Hop Off, these double-decker buses will take tourists on a trip around the city's central districts, Tuoi Tre reports.

Each trip will take about 30 to 35 minutes and ticket prices are VND330,000 (US$14) for adults and VND250,000 (US$10.8) for children from six to 12 years old. Tickets are free for children under five years old. The service will run from 9am to 5:45pm daily.

The route will start and finish at the Saigon Central Post Office on Cong Xa Paris Street. The itinerary for the bus is as followed: Cong Xa Paris - Le Duan - Dinh Tien Hoang - Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - Phung Khac Khoan - Tran Cao Van - Vo Van Tan - Ba Huyen Thanh Quan - Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - Ton That Tung - Pham Ngu Lao - Yersin - Tran Hung Dao - Ham Nghi - Ho Tung Mau - Ton Duc Thang - Nguyen Hue - Le Thanh Ton - Pasteur - Le Duan - Nam Ky Khoi Nghia - Han Thuyen - Cong Xa Paris.

If there are events occurring on Nguyen Hue Street, the route will be adjusted to avoid the area.

The Hop On - Hop Off service has been operating in Hanoi since May 2018 through Hanoi City Bus Tours, which allows tourists to get on and off the bus at any stop along the way.
