American Teacher Killed by Truck in District 7

An American English teacher was hit by a truck and died this morning on Luu Trong Lu st. in District 7.

 According to Tuoi Tre:

“Witnesses said at 9:40am today, a truck driven by Vo Thanh Tam, 23, was heading on Huynh Tan Phat Street towards Ben Nghe port. As the truck reached the crossroads of Huynh Tan Phat and Luu Trong Lu streets in district 7’s Tan Thuan Dong ward, the driver swerved towards the right side into Luu Trong Lu when the truck hit US citizen Wayne Madison.”

Madison, 55 years old, who was riding a bicycle at the time was crushed under the truck and died at the scene.

Witnesses said they heard a loud noise and found Madison under the truck’s wheel.

Near the accident, a Vietnamese woman was seen crying and Tuoi Tre suspects she was Madison’s wife.

No matter how safe you drive, your fate is truly in the hands of others.

Stay aware and safe out there, Saigoneers…
