A new Saigon-based social enterprise, BloomKind, has put sustainability at the forefront of its mission.

BloomKind is the brainchild of a group of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the events space who saw multitudes of flowers being discarded after only a few hours of use. They knew that the flowers' vibrant colors and sweet fragrances still had life in them, and throwing them into the trash was a waste of their transformative potential.

This observation, coupled with a general goal of adding a greater degree of sustainability to the local floral industry, sparked a conversation among friends: Rotarian, Hòa Nguyễn;  content creator, An Nhi Lê; entrepreneur, Thảo Nhi Lê; curator, Việt Nguyễn; event planner, Việt Nguyễn and floral artist Vinh Nguyễn. The group decided to take action and formally launch Bloomkind in March.

Later this year, the BloomKind team will start collecting flowers left over from weddings and events that can be repurposed into new arrangements and delivered to women overcoming hardship, children living in shelters, and elders in care homes. The flowers are not just decorations. They are reminders that someone cares.

Beyond flowers, BloomKind provides emotional and financial support to underserved communities. This includes providing funding for healthcare, education, and basic needs for women and children. The goal is to reduce waste while building pathways to stability and hope.

The diverse collection of designers, artists, event planners, and nonprofit professionals unites around a shared desire to use what they have to help others. They also work closely with organizations such as Operation Smile Vietnam and the Heartbeat Foundation to direct resources to programs focused on well-being. BloomKind recently held their official launching event on April 26th, where they raised funds for Vietnam Children’s Fund (VinaCapital Foundation).

BloomKind acknowledges that its immediate aims are humble. But it works from the belief that changing someone’s day is still worth doing. Over time, these small actions—giving what’s left, paying attention, caring quietly—can lead to something larger: fewer things wasted, more people supported, and a stronger sense of community.

Though they are starting with flowers, BloomKind hopes to expand its mission to other industries, like clothing, to reduce waste and help those in need.

Join the team to help make an impact by visiting BloomKind's Facebook Page for upcoming workshops that are organized every two months. They welcome anyone who can offer expertise, flowers, or simply their time.
