[Photos] Blending in With Nature at a Rustic My Tho Coffee Shop

Set at canal-level, the serene coffee shop pays homage to the residents of the Mekong Delta who for centuries have built homes and communities betwixt channels, swamps and lakes.

Cafe Thuy Viên, located in the serene outskirts of My Tho in Tien Giang Province, looks to the local lifestyles and natural surroundings for inspiration. Bricks, wooden doors and ceramics recovered from area homes constitute the majority of the three-building business designed by G+ Architectsaccording to ArchDaily

Designed to look like a floating pyramid, a ceramic roof with an open center covered by thin fabric envelops the main coffee-lounge. Large glass windows allow for great views from all of the many polished wood tables, chairs and benches populating the primary space. A variety of indigenous trees and bodies of placid water surround and separate the main building from the multi-purpose and auxiliary buildings.
