VietJet Now Offers Direct Flights From Hanoi to Yangon

After Jakarta, VietJet has added another Southeast Asian destination to its regional service.

It’s been less than a week since VietJet announced that it would begin offering flights from Saigon to the Indonesian capital this December. The reveal was part of a visit to Indonesia by Vietnam’s Communist Party Chief, Nguyen Phu Trong.

Recently, during Trong’s official visit to Myanmar, VietJet made a similar announcement, this time regarding its new service from Hanoi to Yangon. Tuoi Tre reports that tourists in the two countries can already book flights on the new route, as round-trip flights will be available starting tomorrow, August 31.

Flights from Hanoi will depart at 12:05pm and arrive in Yangon at 1:30pm. The return flight will take off at 2:30pm local time and reach Hanoi at 4:55pm.

These flight times seem much better than the carrier’s time slots for its Jakarta-Saigon flights, which will take off at 1:40am when they become available later this year.

Saigoneers have been able to fly VietJet directly to Yangon since 2015.
