David Bowie Wanted His Ashes Scattered in Bali

Apparently, Bali left quite the impression on Major Tom.

According to David Bowie's will, filed to a New York City court last Friday, the late musician requested his ashes be scattered “in accordance with the Buddhist rituals of Bali”, reports Asian Correspondent.

In addition to a 1983 tour of Southeast Asia, the “Space Oddity” singer visited Bali in the 1980s on holiday with Iggy Pop, according to the New York Times, hence the request in his will. Bowie was cremated on January 12 in New Jersey.

Beyond burial specifications, the 20-page will, prepared in 2004, also divvied up Bowie's US$100 million estate among his wife Iman, his two children, a long-time personal assistant and the nanny of his son. Bowie passed away on January 10 at the age of 69 after battling cancer.
