Flappy Bird Creator Receives Death Threats After Pulling Game

Apparently Flappy Bird is just about as addictive as drugs. Since it's creator, Dong Nguyen, pulled the game from the iTunes and Google Play Stores last Sunday, citing a constant bombardment from the media and potential buyers, many users have been experiencing symptoms withdrawal. According to CSNBC's Eli Langer, Nguyen has even received death threats over Twitter.

Many were puzzled by the news that Nguyen was removing Flappy Bird, especially after it was revealed last week that he was making US$50,000 per day from banner ads within the game. Based on his Twitter comments, it seems like Nguyen simply disliked the complexity it was bringing to his life.

Langer complied some of the best (worst?) Tweets from angry Flappy Bird addicts:

- “YOU BEST NOT BE DELETING FLAPPY BIRD BECAUSE I WILL MURDER YOU IF U DO.”

- “If you delete flappy bird I will literally kill myself. It’s my drug and I am so addicted!! PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS TO MEEE PLEASEE.”

- “I’ll find you and i’ll kill you.”

- “NO ONLY 1 HOUR I WILL KILL YOU IF U TAKE IT DOWN.”

- “I will kill you mother f**ker.”

How poetic.

Oh, and iPhones with Flappy Bird installed are going for about US$100,000 on eBay. Those are some expensive-ass drugs.
